|Toad in the hole with onion gravy||450g sausages pork or vegetarian175g plain flour¼ teaspoon salt2 eggs175ml milk120ml water450g onions thinly sliced600ml stock beef or vegetable½ teaspoon mustard1 teaspoon thyme leaves25g butter½ teaspoon sugar|Batter: mix flour and salt in a bowl beat in the egg then gradually add the milk and water whisking to a smooth batter. Set aside for 15 mins. Heat some oil in a large frying pan brown the sausages set aside.Gravy: heat the butter in the same pan. Add onions and sugar and cook over a low heat for 30 mins. Stir in the flour cook for a few seconds add the stock thyme leaves and mustard. Season and simmer for 20 mins. Pre heat oven to 200C. Heat the oil in a non stick roasting pan (28 x 20 cms) lay out the sausages pour over the batter cook in the oven for 30 mins untill batter has risen and is golden brown.|30.00 minutes|1|/boxmaster
